Product Description

Twin-shaft Mixer

The twin-shaft mixer is a device used to uniformly moisten dry ash powder and similar materials.

Utilizing two symmetrically arranged spiral shafts rotating in unison, the mixer simultaneously conveys dry ash and other powdered materials while adding water and stirring. This process uniformly moistens the dry ash powder, preventing both dry ash dust emission and water droplet leakage. Consequently, the moistened material is ready for loading into trucks or transfer to other conveying equipment. It is primarily used in industries such as thermal power plants and mining operations.


Structural Features

The twin-shaft mixer primarily consists of the housing, screw shaft assembly, drive unit, piping, cover plate, chain guard, and other components (see separate diagram provided with the equipment). Its specific structural and performance characteristics are as follows:

1. The housing is mainly constructed from sheet metal and structural steel, welded into shape at the manufacturing plant and assembled with other components. It serves as the support structure for the twin-shaft mixer. The housing features a tight seal, preventing fly ash dispersion or leakage.

2. The screw shaft assembly is the core component of the twin-shaft mixer. Its main parts include left- and right-hand screw shafts, bearing housings, bearing sleeves, bearing caps, gears, sprockets, oil cups, blades, and other components.

The left and right helical shafts require high manufacturing precision and excellent processability, with strict fitting requirements for the bearing housings, bearing sleeves, and bearing caps. The gear has a module of 8, 60 teeth, and a tooth angle of 20°; the sprocket has a pitch of 50.8, 25 teeth, and a tooth profile conforming to GB1224-85. Both gears and sprockets are protected by guards for safe and efficient operation. The oil cup employs a press-fit design for convenient and effective lubricant injection. The blades of the twin-shaft mixer are fabricated from wear-resistant composite ceramic material that resists dust adhesion. Their structure is designed for simplicity and rationality, facilitating easy replacement after wear and ensuring extended service life.

3. The water addition and humidification piping primarily consists of connecting pipes, fittings, and nozzles. Stainless steel atomizing cone nozzles are arranged axially along the spiral shaft inside the mixer housing, forming a water curtain to facilitate material humidification and mixing. The nozzle structure is simple and easy to replace, made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel for durability. The moisture content of the wet mortar can be adjusted by operating the manual control valve on the water supply pipe.

4. Cover plates include left cover plate, center cover, right cover plate, hole covers, and maintenance access covers. Six maintenance access ports are positioned on both sides of the twin-shaft mixer for routine operator inspection and maintenance. The twin-shaft mixer is designed for use at the terminal end of pneumatic conveying systems.


Application Areas

The twin-shaft mixer utilizes two parallel shafts rotating in opposite directions to achieve material blending, mixing, and humidification. It is ideally suited for viscous, moist, lumpy materials, or those requiring uniform mixing. Key application areas include:

1. Environmental Protection Industry (Core Application)

- Sludge Treatment: Humidification and mixing of municipal and industrial sludge (e.g., conditioning before incineration, blending before brick production) to prevent clumping and enhance subsequent processing efficiency.

- Waste Management: Pre-treatment for municipal solid waste incineration; blending food waste with additives to achieve uniform material composition, reducing pollution from incineration/landfill.

2. Building Materials & Mining Industry

- Cement Production: Mixing raw materials, clinker, and additives; humidifying and mixing fly ash or slag powder (to prevent dust dispersion).

- Sand and Gravel Processing: Mixing manufactured sand, crushed stone, and binders (e.g., for road base material preparation) to enhance material bonding strength.

3. Chemical and Metallurgical Industries

- Chemical Raw Materials: Mixing viscous chemical powders and slurries (e.g., coating ingredients, fertilizer granule blending) to ensure uniform composition.

- Metallurgical Auxiliaries: Mixing blast furnace slag, steel slag with desulfurization agents, or humidifying metallurgical dust to reduce airborne particulate pollution.

4. Agriculture and Organic Fertilizer Industry

- Organic Fertilizer Production: Fermenting mixtures of livestock manure, crop straw, and humus soil with microbial inoculants to achieve uniform decomposition and enhance fertilizer quality.

- Feed processing: Mixing and blending of moist feed ingredients (e.g., corn stalks, soybean meal) to prepare for subsequent pelletizing processes.
